BRITTANY BAILEY
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate
Hello everybody, I’m Brittany Bailey, a therapist at Foundations Family Therapy in Fuquay-Varina.
Healing from your Past
Have you experienced something that keeps you up at night? Do you have flashbacks, nightmares, or night terrors? Do you feel shame and secrecy over a sexual experience or assault? Are you easily triggered by noises, sights or touches? Are you a woman who has experienced a traumatic event? You are not alone. You are important, chosen and valuable.
I hear you, I want to know your story and help you rebuild your life.
Authenticity, Respect, and Validation
The first thing to understand is that we all struggle and I’m not better than you. I aim to be authentic, respectful, professional, and validating. I aim to make you feel worthy of love, understood, and supported. You are the expert on your own life. I feel honored to hear and be a small part of your story.
Together, we can process your past, your present and goals for your future. I can teach you, encourage you and give you strategies for smiling again. The past does not have to define you or have power over you anymore.
Using your Faith
For many people, myself included, faith is vital. Personally, my Christian faith gives my work eternal meaning and hope. I specialize in Christian counseling and working with those who want to incorporate their faith into the therapy session.
Helping Adults Heal
Being in a marriage, being a parent, or just “adulting” is hard work! Many people fall into the thinking trap that it is going to “be easy”. I think that any life can be made great! I want to work with you on the cycles that you fall into that can spiral out of control.
Individual counseling can be a great way to discover what is working and find new strategies to deal with what isn’t working. Let me lend you hope even if you have none yourself.
A Little about Me
I am originally from Spartanburg, SC, but I have been living in New York City for the past 9 years. My favorite form of self-care is throwing pottery on the wheel. I love to make coffee mugs for people because coffee tastes so much better out of a handmade mug. I also enjoy chatting with friends and family while taking a walk. Catching a good sunset is the best way to end my day! I tend to work from a person-centered, trauma-informed, and multicultural perspective. I have been trained in a brief psychodynamic approach, but I am interested in learning more CBT skills. I most enjoy working with adults above the age of 18, especially young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, or transition. I have worked with a lot of clients who have experienced trauma.
The First Step Counts
Sometimes starting is the hardest part. I would be honored if you chose to tell your story to me. You are not responsible for what happened to you but can shape what happens next. I am ready when you are to take the first step.
If you’re struggling to find a clear path forward, let’s connect. Together, we’ll create a plan to help you move forward in clarity and restoration so you can enjoy the life you were created for! Reach out today.
