About My
Areas of Focus
I have experience working with distressed couples and individuals experiencing marriage conflict, helping couples and individuals experiencing life changes as a result of empty-nesting, separation/divorce, grief from death, and experiencing fear, trauma, and anger as a result of childhood injury.
Why I love what I do
I love coming alongside others who are looking for assistance, acceptance, and encouragement. It’s an honor to walk with them as theymove through their lives as it exists and as it has been influenced by life-changing experiences, childhood injury, and addictive influences coming from themselves and/or others around them.
my experience
I have a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and am a NC Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 4 years of practice as a Counselor in North Carolina. I have over 25 years of experience in ministry work which focuses on marriage, helping people through separation/divorce, and recovering from the grief resulting from death and loss.
My experience of being a single parent for 25 years while raising my 2 sons who were very young when I started until they became self-employed and independent, has provided empathy, compassion, and a heart for the parents and the children experiencing those life transitions.
What i do
For Fun!
I enjoy gardening which coincides with my previous life as a landscape architect before I became a mental health counselor. I enjoy keeping myself physically fit with my Peleton bike and the exercise routines they provide which have replaced my propensity to run 1,000 miles a year.
