Christian Counseling in Wake Forest, NC, Raleigh, NC, and Fuquay Varina, NC

Central to all that we do as counselors is our belief in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin. He never did anything wrong or evil in His entire life. We also believe that He died for our sins and rose from the dead so that we could be resurrected with Him.

Faith in Christ allows us to have a hope and peace that is better than any other hope or peace you can find. It also teaches us that we are never alone in our pain or our struggles.

Faith and
Counseling

Because our faith influences how we see the world, we are open and honest about our beliefs as they influence our understanding of healing, pain, and hope. That said, we work with individuals from a variety of perspectives and backgrounds. We will meet with anyone, regardless of where they are in their faith journey.

We also know that being a Christian doesn’t exempt you from a life of pain, struggles, and difficulties. Sometimes it can be quite the opposite, in fact. But because we believe that God has a plan for each of us, we believe that suffering can be meaningful. Through Christian counseling, we help you understand and process your circumstances through the lens of Christian belief.

Christian

Marital Counseling

Our therapists can also provide Christian counseling, from a hope focused and marriage centered perspective, to couples who desire it. While honoring your own faith background, we will work with you to provide a biblical lens to help you better understand your marriage, commitments to each other, and the challenges of your particular marriage relationship. We will work with you to define goals for healing your marriage that will align with your faith and belief system.

What Christian Counseling
Looks Like

Counseling that is explicitly rooted in Christian belief will still look like conventional, non-religious counseling in a number of ways. Therapists will continue to use evidenced-based methods to help you understand your story and form your plan and goals going forward.

Confidentiality is still protected in Christian counseling, so your therapist will not divulge anything to your pastor or church community without your consent. You do not need to be a member of a church to receive Christian counseling, and the purpose of counseling is not proselytization. Counselors will not push their own views onto you and Scripture will be brought into therapy to whatever degree is comfortable for you. Christian counseling essentially offers you and your therapist another lens through which you can talk about your story and formulate a plan for your future.
