What Thriving Means to Me

Thriving to me means having a full and balanced life. It means being aligned with my values and investing my time and energy into what really matters. Thriving means positive communication with others and having a good sense of self regardless of the circumstances. Thriving also means knowing when I need to recharge and making time for myself to rest.

More About Allie

I am an LCSW full-time therapist and have been with Foundations since 2018. I specialize in helping adults navigate life transitions whether that is adjusting to college life or empty nesters. I particularly enjoy working with college students and young adults. I incorporate trauma based training in my therapy and strive to personalize my approach to meet the needs of my clients. It’s important to me to help clients integrate their values into their life experiences and make meaning of past and present to have a fulfilled life and healthy boundaries.

As a team lead, I help make sure the office runs smoothly from admin tasks to meeting with new and existing therapists for support. I value creating a safe space for therapists to staff cases and feel a sense of connection with each other. I enjoy organizing peer consultation events, fun staff outings, and networking opportunities for our therapists to grow and thrive as well as feel connected to the community we serve.

Why I love what I do

I love the ‘aha’ moments in therapy and when I can celebrate wins with clients. It’s powerful seeing changes in one individual that impacts their generational system. I also love supporting other therapists because it can be easy to minimize our own needs but the helpers also need a helper.

What i do

For Fun!

I love going on adventures with my husband and daughter. I am an avid podcast listener and lifelong learner which usually involves psychology or science research. I love exercising on my rowing machine and doing yoga to destress. I enjoy being outside whether that is swinging on my screened in porch or going on walks. Although I find energy being by myself, I love organizing cookouts with neighbors and singing in the worship band at church. Being able to serve at church is important to me and being a part of something bigger than myself.
