What Thriving means to me

”Thriving” means being able to maintain a sense of self through life changes and transitions. It means connecting with what matters and finding purpose.

About My
Areas of Focus

I specialize in trauma-based recovery, depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. I incorporate spirituality into therapy services if requested. I have prior training in TFCBT and CPT approaches. During my time at Foundations, I have engaged in training on Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and on mindfulness-based approaches. I can also incorporate DBT techniques into sessions. I enjoy working with people who are motivated to change and ready to reflect on their life experiences. I value helping clients identify their purpose and maintain a sense of self through life transitions.

Why I love what I do

I love when I have ‘ah-ha’ moments with clients when the tools we are talking about really click. I love witnessing change happen and clients feeling proud of themselves.

my experience

I graduated from West Virginia University with my Bachelors in Psychology in 2010 and my Masters in Social Work in 2013. I obtained my clinical social work full license in 2015 in NC. I received a certificate in 2016 from the Advanced Training Institute in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and received a certificate in 2016 for Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I have been practicing therapy since 2013, and have experience providing therapy for at-risk children and teens with community-based Intensive in-home family services.
